Is it bad when the Disney Store in Utah is more convenient to visit than the one down the street from me? Least I get a discount at both...

So yesterday we went to the Hogle Zoo and saw Zoo Lights which was really neat... Not too many animals were out after dark but it was still fun (and cold)to see the thousands of lights and animated displays throughout the zoo.

Tonight I went to a new Pirate themed restaurant here and it was really pretty neat (and good food) though the "Capt Jack" server was a little odd...

This week at work I am earning my Spanish ears as the group we have is 99.5% non english speakers... So we have had to translate all signs, menus etc into spanish which I have had a crash course in grammar, spelling and basic vocab... Add to the fact their breakfast starts at 6am which has me in at 5:30 I am exhausted! (Hence the boring pic for today... Just be glad its not of the AMC theaters in DTD where I saw New Moon today)

The 'Disappointed Sigh Award' goes to the Contemp Gingerbread display... So after seeing the pin design for several months and knowing what they did last year I had high hopes for this year's display.. Yeah they were a dashed pretty good when I saw the display today. Most of it is all wood and only the tree is done in gingerbread (which even the non-baker I am could've almost done)and its more a glorified Merch display than anything (which I'm sorry 10-16 bucks for a cookie is inexcusable (even a cute cookie)- the (&%$ pin is cheaper than the COOKIES)and you can't even photograph it properly due to the merch stand... All in all I give it a 2 out of 10...

One day this little glow stick is going to grow up and join the Festival of Dancing Lights...

So tonight I hit the Studios to see Osbourne and I have to say there is something about it being 80 degrees makes it not as "Christmas-y" as when its 50... Still fun though

Countdown to the holidays and vacation has started :)

God Speed Atlantis! and on the first try no less... So I realized today that I've always been at work when Atlantis launches but not for any of the other 2 shuttles... Weird

Alas space watch 2009 has come to a close as I will most likely be on vacation when Atlantis returns..

The Disney tree went up last night and was decorated today :) I realized if I didn't get it done soon it wasn't going to get done at all (Pretty busy december!)

Okay okay so today I hit the MK to take pics of the christmas decorations and ended up seeing the new Princess and the Frog boat show, walking through the queue for Space Mountain (ride went 101 before I boarded) and saw the castle lighting ceremony or in other words- 4 hrs at the MK= 210 pictures...

So for once instead of hearing and seeing what they removed from WDW this holiday season today I found something new... I had hoped it would be lit at night (nope) but still its nice

Edited today to add: so apparently it CAN be lit but it has issues.. While I was walking into work (at 6 am) they had it lit and a crane moving around trying to fix the big dark spots...

Day 2 of the 20+ Service Celebration- finally got around to taking a few pics and while I usually try to change things up I just like this one.. Not often you get this vantage point of topiaries :)

So I will confess this picture was not taken today. It was taken LAST year at the same event but in the fact I ran from the moment I got to work today this is as good as it gets.. Luckily the same topiaries are in the exact same spot so it works :P hopefully tomorrow I will get to take some new pics (sigh I miss my camera that used to be able to do the cool color correction)

So christmas has basically begun here at WDW... sigh I miss having a good solid 2 weeks between Halloween and Christmas. Now its less than a week

So I was walking into work today and thought that I should probably get out the camera in case Teal was flying... 10 seconds later Teal flew by so no time to grab the camera.. It is pretty! Then all day I kept trying to sneak away to go take a picture but it was crazy busy then it was dark so no great pics tonight...

The hunt for Monorail Teal begins... I know it started flying the last few days but I haven't seen it yet :(

Well my first christmas decorations went up today... Yes it was just the pretty cool static clings I found at Target yesterday that look good on my fridge (Kitchen is done in Cars)

So today I got the nickel tour of Textile Services. It is a pretty fascinating place and I had more fun than I thought the trip out to get chair covers would be... (and the statement of the largest working wardrobe on earth is soo believable after visiting there!)
