And the Monorail of the Month award goes to.... Monorail Silver as it seemed to be EVERYWHERE this month. It usually was the first one Id see each day (to the point it became comical) and every time I went to take a picture of a 'rail Silver almost always came first and it didn't matter which beam I was watching...

Happy 21st birthday Illuminations! I was planning on hitting Epcot tonight but as its now going to be really cold (low 30s tonight) I chickened out :) (and apparently I need to take more pictures of the show as I went through ALL of my pictures and this is one of 2 pictures I had...)

We got the new lanyards today :) Do we ever wear them? No but at least we have them... While I like the card I don't think they'll last too long as the plastic seems weaker than the last version but I am glad to have the black lanyards back

Is it a bad thing when there is over 100 different choices for todays picture?!? Alas this is the one that won as it was the first time Ive ever eaten at Crystal Palace... It was amazingly good food and I had a great time.

So today while killing time between work and pin trading night I stopped by the kingdom and ended up in front of Country Bears and I decided to see the show since it had been forever (and the show was starting) and it was interesting... It seemed that all the bears had some weird eye issue with their left eyes (and only the left) and the show seemed tired and ehhhh so all in all I was glad when it was over...

I never thought I'd have the need for an ice scraper in Orlando... I suddenly think I didn't move far enough south...


(oh and before anyone asks- the celebrate chime was the cast christmas present this year- I think I'm one of the few that liked it and it makes a pretty fun rearview mirror accent)

2 more down, 6 to go- I only have 6 more movies to see until I have officially seen all of the first 150 disney movies (which runs from 1937 to roughly 1983) I had abandoned the task about a year ago because I couldnt find anymore but recently was introduced to Disney Movie Rewards where I found these two... I lucked out that all the codes I had were enough and the movies arrived today! Woot! (and for the record the ones I still haven't seen are: Smith!, Perri, Wild Country, Scandalous John, Run Cougar Run, and Best of True Life Adventures)

I never liked dried fruit until one day out of desperation for something remotely healthy I tried some and I am now hooked.. I'll need to stock up before the 50% discount ends as its an affordable splurge now- not so much at 3 bucks a pack...

Just sending a little bit of Florida Sunshine to the rest of the world... I stopped at the Kingdom to play with the cameras- it was busier than I thought (then realized its a 3 day weekend..) so Ill have to go back...

There may be a light at the end of the tunnel (at least one of the tunnels I find myself in) it may just be an oncoming train but its atleast a light...

So today we established the tolerance of the Banquet team on how many drastic changes one group can make to ONE room setup before it makes *everyone* crazy... That answer is 9

The first change to the table set up = no problem (which I think was add table and chairs for 200)
The second change = also no problem (which I think was reduce tables and chairs by 100)
The third change= tolerated (which was adding BACK the 100 and adding 50)
The fourth/fifth/sixth= frustrated (which I think rotated the tables then reduced them to 50 then re-added them all back)
The seventh/eighth/ninth= code red... (which part was removing every other chair then adding it back etc)

and sadly there was *still* an hour before the meeting was to start when I left.. They may be on change 10/11/12 by now... Add that to the other 30+ rooms that needed attention today- the team was frazzled to say the least..

So I had a hard time deciding what to photograph today.. Work was dull and only place I stopped after work was the Lodge again to drop off the project I did for my friend and really didn't need another photo this week from there... Inspiration struck on the way home and YES I drove safe and didn't hurt anything/anybody.. I wouldn't have tried if there would've been traffic (I know I know Safe D begins with me...)

A rainy day at the Studios.. I had wanted to hit DAK but since it closed early figured to hit Studios instead- It was DEAD though Toy Story was still a 60 min wait ( and no FP- one day I'll get to ride it again..) yet Coaster and Tower were less than 15. While cutting though the stores I caught a glimpse of one of the newest Citizens of Hollywood direct from the Adv Club... Guess I'll have to like streetmosphere after all...

I also noticed WDW has new ponchos (guess they gave up on just the castle logo- now its Mickey and the castle logo)

January 12

So you may think today's picture is a bit odd but it has to do with the most bizarre question/conversation I've ever received while working ANYWHERE (Let alone here...) So today I was at work and one of the leaders of a group we have this week stopped me and asked what my shoe size was... I was caught off guard while I replied 8,8.5 and her reply was aww to small, and then starts to go on how bad her shoes hurt and how she wants to change them etc. I reply that she should check the 4th floor as they have several varieties of shoes and sandals and she replies that she doesn't want to buy any and walks off mentioning how comfortable mine look (and anyway they are NOT)... I am suddenly grateful for my shoe size...

I am ALL for guest service but I draw the line at giving a guest my shoes (besides after 3 hours of walking who would WANT them- trust me they are not a rose garden...)

It was fun watching some of the runners today both at the 'temp and then on my road trip to DAK Lodge.. Course I got the end of the group both times... It is nice having traffic back to normal though ;) as it took me 1 hour and 20 min to get from the 'temp to the Lodge and back and my normal commute into work of 22 min on a 6 am start took 54 min (yes I planned so I wasnt late..)

Stopped by the Lodge to see my friend and of course take some pictures... I do think at the rate I'm going Ill only have to take new pics for 6 months and use the runners up for the next six months...

Spent a few hours at Epcot tonight- Had fun learning the camera and realizing I have much to learn... Had a hard decision on choosing today's picture but I really loved seeing the full moon (or almost full moon) out and seeing it contrast against Spaceship Earth- Beautful

So yes I do still have my tree up and yes I'm playing with my new DSLR- I love this ornament to the fact I have 3 different versions and an extra of one of them... I did splurge this year and buy this years version (Mickey's got a sparkly suit vs last years velvety one) course after the 50% off and the 50% off of that 3 bucks wasnt bad...

Todays is a more depressing post- Today was the first time Ive actually spent more than 5 min at DTD since the end of the island (and only because I got paid for 6 of the 6.5 hours I was there...) and I walked by the club. Its sad now with the chains there and some of the outside stuff gone. I miss it- Its been 3 months but I miss it like it was yesterday.

So while this isnt prob a traditional picture- it describes my day too well (AND yes it was taken at the contemporary so it counts..) If you want the whole vent youll have to switch over to the whole blog-

So I guess that starting after tomorrow Ill have a new camera as this one pretty much swan dived into history (and I didnt even drop it!) and unless I want to carry toothpicks around to use the shutter button...

So as the early part of yesterday was quiet I snuck up and took this pic of the monorail and liked it though after everything with the wedding took off I knew that needed to be the pic of the 3rd... So this became todays picture

A huge $$$$ wedding and I end up making the dinner menus, and if thats where the craziness ended it would've been great. I spent 2 hours between both textile services trying to get linen then get the task of creating the menus (One would think if you are spending 250 bucks a person for dinner- you could BUY menu cards..) then get extended to help/witness the madness.. Less than 2 minutes before the doors open, 2 trays of blue champagne hit the floor.. 30 min into dinner one of the centerpieces decides to swan dive INTO the table and then we set off the smoke alam (thank goodness it was a silent one) because they used the smoker to add elegance to the dishes... I may need to get cable when the wedding airs on We TV simply to see how good it looked on tv... I ended up with oh 6.5 hours of overtime so I am NOT complaining

So today I decided to take a picture of the sun rising as I liked the idea of starting with a sun rise and ending with a sunset.. Course I like fireworks better... but today I decided to hit the 'temp beach to get a sun starting to rise pic.. As I was leaving I saw a ferry sailing by and so *had* to take another... Not a usual site on Bay Lake...

I think the Studios got the fuzzy end of the lollipop with  the fireworks as theirs well wasn't amazing... Wishes is better.. (and I don't even *like* Wishes)
